It’s peak wedding season, girls! Brides-to-be have a lot on their plates—finding the perfect venue and dream wedding dress, triple-confirming the guest list, and ordering the cake. The list doesn’t end there.
Once the essential to-do list items are out of the way (hopefully), you have to finalize your wedding look. Lock in a hair and makeup team, but don’t stop there.
To truly shine on your big day, you must add some beauty treatments to your pre-wedding prep. But the thing is, tons of beauty treatments are available. It can be hard to decide which ones to go for before your big day. Nonetheless, we are here to help you out.
Ahead, we’ll share a few beauty treatments that you must get before your big day to look your best.
#1 Opt for Teeth Whitening for a Gorgeous Smile
The most beautiful curve on a bride’s face? Her smile! Wouldn’t you want yours to be as white as your wedding gown?
Teeth whitening treatments can help you brighten your pearly whites. Take-home whitening kits are effective. You can use them, but don’t expect immediate results. They take weeks to remove the built-up staining.
In-office dental whitening treatments offer quick results. Teeth get about three to eight shades brighter within 30 to 60 minutes when a dentist does the whitening treatment, says WebMD.
Schedule a cleaning at least two weeks before your big day. Getting a teeth whitening done this early will provide you ample time to tackle sensitivity issues, should there be any.
#2 Get a Straightening or Relaxing Treatment to Tame Your Curls
Taming curly or frizzy hair is difficult. Styling unruly strands is also not easy. Your hair can ruin your wedding photos if you don’t do anything to tame it. Don’t let that happen.
Straightening or relaxing treatment can be your best friend. It works wonders in taming unruly strands. Your hair will become more manageable and easier to style. The result? Silky, shiny locks that hold up even in humidity.
Book an appointment at a salon a week or two before the wedding. That way, the treatment can settle, and your hair will appear more natural.
Go for any hair straightening or relaxing treatment except chemical relaxers.
A study published in Boston University Chobanian & Avedisian School of Medicine links the use of hair relaxers among Black women with an elevated risk of uterine cancer. The risk of developing uterine cancer was 50% greater among women who used hair relaxers twice a year or over five years.
Scientists have identified formaldehyde, a known carcinogen, as one of the problematic substances in hair relaxers.
Kiara Burroughs, a Georgia woman, filed a hair relaxer lawsuit in 2022. The plaintiff alleged that the manufacturers of hair relaxers failed to warn the public that the toxic chemicals in their products can cause uterine fibroids.
Kiara isn’t alone in her fight; over 8,500 women have filed the suit. Many of those claims focus on endometrial, uterine, and ovarian cancer.
According to TorHoerman Law, L’Oreal, Just For Me, ORS Hair Care, Softsheen-Carson, and Dark & Lovely are defendants in the lawsuit.

#3 Treat Yourself to a Hydrafacial for Wedding-Ready Skin
Want to make your skin glow on your wedding day? Get a Hydrafacial done a week or two before your big day. According to Brides, it’s the go-to choice for brides-to-be.
This treatment will cleanse, exfoliate, and hydrate—all in one session, leaving you with a glow so radiant that highlighter might become optional. The good thing? This facial is suitable for all skin types. That means it won’t leave your skin red or irritated like regular facials.
For a plumper, dewy skin, start treatments a few months before your wedding. Schedule your last session two weeks ahead of your big day. It will leave your skin fresh, smooth, and makeup-ready.
#4 Schedule a Mani-Pedi Session for Picture-Perfect Nails
Your hands and feet deserve as much attention as your face and hair. Don’t forget to schedule a mani-pedi session a day before your big day.
Your hands will be in the spotlight—from showing off your ring to holding your bouquet. Getting a manicure will make your nails look perfect in every shot. Go for gel or dip powder manicures. They are great on nails as well as glossy and long-lasting.
Don’t forget your feet! A pedicure is a must, even if you aren’t wearing open-toed shoes. It will keep your feet feeling smooth and looking polished.
Needless to say, your wedding day is one of the most important days of your life. You’d want to feel and look your best on your big day.
Treating yourself to these beauty treatments can help enhance your look as well as boost your confidence. Whether it’s a chic mani-pedi or a refreshing Hydrafacial, these treatments will ensure you walk down the aisle feeling radiant and polished. Just make sure you schedule these treatments well in advance, so you don’t have to deal with last-minute surprises.
